The Most Influential DJs In 2025

In 2024, Spin Genie UK revealed the DJs dominating the scene - but a lot can change in a year. Electronic music has surged in popularity recently, built on the foundations laid by iconic DJs since the mid-90s.

But how do the original kings and queens of the decks fare in 2025 compared to the DJs they inspired, and who is the most influential in 2025? By analysing factors including Spotify streams, Google searches, and social media followers, we’ve revealed the most influential DJs of 2025.

Most Influential Male Djs

1) Alan Walker, DJ score of 8.52/10:

Norwegian DJ Alan Walker tops the male rankings for 2025, improving massively from seventh place in the 2024 ranking. Born in Northampton, England, to an English father and Norwegian mother, Walker moved to Norway as a toddler, and that's where he began to make headlines as a top DJ.

He has had massively successful songs, the most popular of which is ‘Faded’, which was released in 2015. Walker is hugely popular on TikTok, reflecting his strong appeal among younger audiences. He is enjoying the prime of his career, having completed two world tours over the past three years.

2) David Guetta, DJ score of 8.32/10:

The King of the DJs in our previous study, and ranking in second place this year, David Guetta is perhaps the world's most well-known and successful DJ. He was voted the number one DJ in the world by DJMag in 2011. Since then, he has consistently topped the charts around the world. He has a particular knack for summer party anthems, where he collaborates with top pop artists such as Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, and Rihanna.

Guetta has an average of over 74 million monthly listens on Spotify and 11.5 million Instagram followers. In recent years, Guetta’s output has slowed down as he focuses on being a father, but even so, he released the big anthem ‘I Don’t Wanna Wait’, which performed well in the summer of 2024.

3) Daft Punk, DJ score of 8.16/10:

Another French DJ act in the top three of the rankings is the duo Daft Punk. Despite splitting in 2021, Daft Punk are regarded as one of the most influential acts in the dance music scene since the early 1990s. They have had many successful tracks, such as ‘Get Lucky’ (2013), a song which hit the top 10 in charts across 27 countries worldwide.

Daft Punk are known for their distinctive style, with their futuristic face masks worn on stage to disguise their identities, adding to their mystery and increasing their appeal among fans.

1) Charlotte de Witte, DJ score of 8.91/10:

Yet another European DJ is one of the most influential. Belgian performer Charlotte de Witte is again at the top of the female rankings. De Witte is very popular on social media, with 3.8 million followers on Instagram and 1.6 million followers on TikTok.

In recent years, de Witte has released several big singles, including ‘Roar’ and ‘How You Move’ in 2024 and ‘The Realm’ earlier in 2025. In 2024, she also achieved her highest ranking by DJ Mag, reaching number 16.

2) Cascada, DJ score of 8.01/10:

Cascada is a German DJ group fronted by Natalie Horler and  DJ Manian, and DJ Yanou. Although most people think Cascada is just one woman because of their album art, the teamwork of all three has propelled Cascada to achieve big things in the 2000s and beyond.

Despite performing until 2021, Cascada’s biggest hits and highest levels of success occurred in the mid to late noughties with hits such as ‘Everytime We Touch’ and ‘Evacuate the Dancefloor’.

3) Deborah de Luca, DJ score of 7.63/10:

Italian DJ Deborah de Luca is the third highest-performing female DJ, with an average of over 1.2 million monthly listeners. De Luca has 2.8 million followers on Instagram and 1.2 million on TikTok. Her biggest track is ‘Children,’ which has almost 40 million listens on Spotify.

David Guetta is perhaps unsurprisingly the most listened-to DJ on Spotify, with almost 75 million average monthly listens, around seven million more than second-placed Calvin Harris, who has 67.4 million.

Most Googled DJ

The most Googled DJ in the last year is Avicii. Despite sadly losing his life in 2018, the Swedish DJ is still very popular with his massive fan base. There were almost 17 million searches for him between April 2024 and March 2025, a 47% increase on the year before.

The year-on-year increase is most likely due to the release of the Netflix documentary on December 31st, 2024, which focused on Avicii’s life and career.

Most Newsworthy DJ

The group Disclosure received the highest number of news articles about them, likely due to a recent wave of articles about the new music they are potentially dropping. In a live studio session in early 2025, Disclosure hinted at new tracks in development. In total, there were 108,000 news articles for the search term ‘Disclosure Music’.

DJ Marshmello has by far the biggest following on Instagram. His 29.7 million followers are almost double the number that second-place Martin Garrix has (15.4 million). Marshmello is known for his popular hits ‘Silence’, ‘Wolves’, and ‘Friends’, working with the likes of Selena Gomez.
